Dino Melaye Arrives Kogi In Ambulance, To Be Arraigned Again

The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has arrived Lokoja, in an ambulance by the police authorities and is due to appear in court later today.

Senator Dino Melaye is set to appear before a Lokoja Magistrate Court this morning, as he reportedly arrived in an ambulance around 7:00am today and was driven straight to the police A Division.

Naija News learnt that the Senator is presently at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office under the guard of armed policemen in Lokoja.

According to the police, Melaye is being arraigned for an alleged criminal conspiracy, causing damage to government property, attempted suicide and escape from lawful custody.

Melaye’s arraignment in court according to the police was subsequent to his discharge from the National Hospital after he was confirmed fit for trial.

It would be recalled that as earlier reported by Naija News yesterday, at the Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja, Melaye was granted a bail of N90 million and two sureties in like sum.

But the senator was immediately rearrested by the police and taken to Force Headquarters in Abuja, according to his aides who informed newsmen about the development.
