1. Buhari in US for meeting with President Trump

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in the United States where he is expected to hold meetings with US President, Donald Trump.

Buhari arrived the United States on Sunday ahead of his four-day working visit to America.

2. Dino Melaye survives INEC recall

The bid to recall Senator Dino Melaye from the Senate has finally crashed as only 5.34 per cent of the total 188,500 signatories to his recall petition were verified in an exercise held on Saturday.

The genuine signatories represent a dismal 5.34 per cent of the total signatories to the petition, which fell short of 51 per cent or 98, 364 signatures required for the petition to sail through.

3. Christians stage nationwide protest against killings in Nigeria

Christians in Nigeria,on Sunday, staged peaceful nationwide protests against the continued killings and the security situation in the country.

This follows calls by the CAN President, Rev. Supo Ayokunle for Christians to protest the killings in the country and demand the release of Leah Sharibu.

4. Bomb blast destroys John Nwodo’s residence

The country home of the embattled President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo at Ukehe in Enugu State, was on Sunday ripped apart by bomb blast.

An Improvised Explosive Device, IED, was thrown into his house by unknown persons from outside his compound.

5. 14 die in gunmen attack on Kaduna state

Gunmen attacked Janruwa community, Maganda district in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna state, killing and burning 14 persons beyond recognition.

The incident reportedly occurred around 1pm on Saturday, with local miners majorly the victims of the attack.

6. Obama’s administration didn’t give enough support to fight against Boko Haram- Presidency

The Presidency on Sunday lamented that Nigeria did not receive the deserved support from the former President of the United States of America, Mr. Barrack Obama in the fight against terrorism.

The submission was made by Garba Shehu, senior special adviser to the president on media and publicity.

7. Obasanjo’s coalition slams President Buhari over killings in the country

The Coalition for Nigeria Movement led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for campaigning in different parts of the country despite the killings in the North-Central particularly in Benue State.

The group, in a statement on Sunday by its spokesman, Mr. Akin Osuntokun, said Buhari’s visit to Bauchi State to campaign less than 24 hours after several persons were slaughtered in Benue State was the height of insensitivity.

8. Obasanjo can’t stop my presidential ambition –  Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has stated that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo can’t intimidate him ahead of the 2019 presidential elections.

He stated that Obasanjo was against him because he refused to support his third term ambition.

9. Barcelona clinch Spanish La Liga title

Barcelona clinched the La Liga title on Sunday with their win against Deportivo La Coruna with three games to spare.

Lionel Messi also scored a hat trick during the game to take his season’s tally to 32 goals.

10. Manchester United defeat Arsenal on Sunday

Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United in what was Arsene Wenger’s last game as Arsenal manager at the Old Trafford.

The game seemed ready to end in a draw before Mourane Fellaini’s header gave victory to United.
