Senator Dino’s Re-Arrest: Gov. Fayose, Others React

While reactions and different versions of Senator Dino Melayes rearrest flood the media, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose and a host of other Nigerians, have taken to twitter to express hope that Nigerian government can employ the same concerted effort in chasing killer-herdsmen in Nigeria.

Reacting to the arrest, release, re-arrest of Senator Dino Melaye in the last 48hours, Governor Fayose tweeted:

Armed bandits have taken over Zamfara State. Communities are constantly being invaded in Kogi State and people are being brutally killed, with properties destroyed. Yet, it is Senator Dino Melaye that our Policemen are flexing muscle with.

If half of the level aggressiveness being shown by the Police on arrest of Dino Melaye is shown on the killings by herdsmen across the North Central & other parts of the country,the rampaging killer herdsmen that are even killing policemen would have been brought under control

I read the police’s statement on @dino_melaye and it was a detailed statement saying nothing. If only the Nigerian police can be as serious about going after enemies of Nigeria, like herdsmen, as they are with going after enemies of President Buhari, like Dasuki, Dino and Saraki.

Even the thugs who stole the @NGRSenate’s mace were not treated as brutally as @dino_melaye. Herdsmen who kill Nigerians are treated better than Dino. Maina was brought back to Nigeria and given armed guards, Dino was stopped from leaving Nigeria and maltreated by armed guards!

Funny that Senator Dino Melaye has now become so small that he can escape through the window of police vehicle. That vehicle window must be as big as those Aso Villa windows through which rats invaded our President’s office.
