Police Arrest Dino Melaye Again

After men of the Nigeria Police Force maintained an all night vigil at the Abuja home of Senator Dino Melaye, in an action which began yesterday afternoon, reports say the Kogi senator has been arrested early Tuesday.
Melaye was said to have been moved to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Headquarters, Guzape, Abuja.

The lawmaker, according to reliable sources, was subsequently detained in a facility located opposite the old CBN junction along the Area 1 Expressway.

The SARS detention facility is known for imprisoning hardened criminals arrested for theft, murder, cultism and other criminal acts. However, the police is yet to confirm Melaye’s arrest.

It was gathered that the Nigeria Police Force forcefully carried out the arrest of Melaye without arrest warrant or court order.

Senator Melaye had earlier via a tweet on his Twitter account this morning, indicated willingness to hand himself over to the police for investigation.

It will be recalled that Naija News had earlier reported how the senator cried out earlier today over an alleged attempt to kill him, following the withdrawal of his security details.
