Drug Trafficker Bags Two Months Imprisonment

A 30-year-old man, Thomas Didi, has been sentenced to two months imprisonment for drug trafficking by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Justice Chuka Obiozor, who delivered the judgement said the accused was guilty of the charge and sentenced him to two months imprisonment from the date of arrest.

The accused was charged with drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). He pleaded guilty to the charge and pleaded with the court to show him mercy and give him the chance to become a better person.

Mr Jeremiah Aernan, the Prosecutor, earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence on Dec. 12, 2017.

According to him, the convict was arrested at Ghetto Marwa in Ajah, Lagos, with the restricted narcotics, cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) weighing about 800 grammes.

He said that the offence contravened Section 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap. No. 30, Laws of the Federation, 2004.
