I Don’t Have Muslim Agenda – LP Governorship Aspirant, Lawal

Dr. Sikiru Lawal, a former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, has declared that his interest in running for the Ekiti State Governorship race come July 14 is not based on any Muslim agenda.

The former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party joined the governorship race on the platform of the Labour Party on Wednesday.

He stated that, though it has been the desires of Muslims to win governorship seat, he said his interest was not based on such ideology.

While speaking at a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, Lawal expressed confidence that Muslims and Christains will both vote for him.

He said, “I am not fighting for Muslims because this is a political and not a religious issue. I am not in Ekiti for any agenda, it is an agenda to make our state great.

“The coming election is not about money. But, if they bring money, collect it and vote for a man that can make Ekiti great, because probably it must have been money meant for a certain project that they embezzled.

“We have tried the PDP and the APC and saw nothing; this is the time to try the LP. If you see what the LP did in Ondo, Ekiti will pray to have the LP in the coming election.”
