A high court sitting in Abuja has granted Ovie Omo-Agege, senator representing Delta central, an interim order that restricts any form of arrest by the police, Department of State Service (DSS) and other law enforcement bodies.

Recall Naija News reported that Omo-agege was alleged to have stormed the senate with thugs and carted away the mace.

The act caused chaos in the red chamber for a while, until a spare mace was brought in to enable the lawmakers reconvene plenary.

Omo-Agege later came back to the plenary but was arrested by the police.

He however explained later that he wasn’t arrested but was led away by the police who wanted to hear his part in the matter.

However, Omo-Agege’s lawyers approached the court on Thursday to seek an interim injunction against arrest or detention of the senator.

Ishaq Bello, the presiding judge, granted all the four prayers.
