Senate Unveil Thugs Behind Invasion of Plenary

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who is currently serving a 90-days suspension has been alleged to be the brain behind the invasion of the Senate plenary this morning by persons suspected to be thugs, during which the mace was seized and taken away by the invaders.

Omo-Agege is currently on a 90-day suspension over his comment that the amendment to the Electoral Act 2010 to reorder the sequence of polls in a general election was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Nigeria Senate via its twitter handle said;

“Today, some hoodlums led by suspended Senator @OvieOmoAgege walked into the Senate plenary and seized the symbol of authority of the Upper Legislative Chamber, the mace.

“This action is an act of treason, as it is an attempt to overthrow a branch of the Federal Governemnt of Nigeria by force…”

Recall Naija News earlier reported the lawmakers have given security operatives a 24-hour ultimatum to find and return the mace which was stolen during the senate invasion by hoodlums earlier on Wednesday.
