1. President Buhari meets Tinubu in London

President Muhammadu Buhari, met with a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday.

President Buhari who is currently observing his annual vacation in United Kingdom met with Tinubu in London.

2. APC constitutes convention committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Convention Committee ahead its elective convention which is to hold before June 2018.

This was made known via a list signed by Osita Izunaso, the National Organising Secretary of the party.

3. Why I threatened not to support my husband in 2019 – Aisha Buhari

Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha on Saturday, April 14 explained why she had earlier criticised her husband’s government and threatened not to support his second term bid.

The first lady in her acceptance letter on Saturday to Vanguard Newspaper which made her its person of the year this week, that she didn’t intend to confront or disrespect the president.

4. Remaining Chibok girls would be rescued – Saraki

President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has called for concerted efforts to rescue the remaining 112 Chibok Girls and the Dapchi schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu, from Boko Haram’s captivity.

Saraki said that this would require the collaboration of by governments, security agencies, religious and community leaders.

5. Edo state bans herdsmen for 90 days

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has placed a 90-day ban on grazing in Odighi, Odiguetue communities and environs, as an interim measure to forestall further killings and destruction of property by herdsmen.

Obaseki announced this during a stakeholders meeting at the palace of the Enogie of Odighi Community in Ovia North East Local Government Council of the state.

6. US President Donald Trump to host President Buhari on April 30

U.S. President Donald Trump would host President Muhammadu Buhari on April 30, the White House announced on Sunday evening.

The White House in a statement said Buhari would meet Trump at Washington to discuss issues including “fighting terrorism” and economic growth.

7. Gunmen kill five in fresh Taraba attack

Less than 24 hours after soldiers drafted to maintain peace in some parts of Taraba State were withdrawn, five persons have been killed by unknown gunmen at Sabon Gida in Donga Local Government Area of the state.

The Chairman of the local government area, Nashuka Ipeyen, who confirmed the killings to journalists.

8. Obasanjo will stop Buhari in 2019 – Obasanjo’s ex-wife

Taiwo Obasanjo, ex-wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, says God must foil the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, the same way Obasanjo’s “third term plot” failed in 2005.

She opposed the re-election bid of Buhari, insisting that he must retire to Daura, his hometown in Katsina state.

10. Manchester City crowned premier league champions

Manchester City have been crowned English premier league champions following United’s loss to West Brom on Sunday.

City won the league title with five games to spare.
