A girl, preparing to write her West African Senior School Certificate Examination, has met her untimely death after she got burnt in church while praying for success in her examinations.
Naija News learnt that the eighteen-year-old Efua Asantewa of the Mozano Senior High School in the Central Region Portia Donkor, Ghana, had been taken to church by her mother to pray for success in her forth coming exams. Unfortunately, things turned sour for the girl.
Efua Eguama, the 45-year-old prophetess and leader of the African Faith Church at Breman Bedum whose church the family of the girl took her to, was said to have poured oil on the girl before giving her a lit candle to hold before commencing the prayers.
The cloth of the student however caught fire in the process, causing her to suffer severe burns.
Naija News gathered that she was immediately rushed to the Breman Asikuma hospital when they could not quench the fire and was later transferred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where she died.
The Police in the country, have since arrested the prophetess and she will be arraigned in court on Monday, on the provisional charge of murder.
