Farmer Abduct 19-Year-Old, Requests N4m Ransom

A farmer, Jibrin Adamu has been arrested and remanded in prison, following orders from a magistrate court in Minna today for allegedly abduction a 19-yer-old girls and requesting a ransom on N4m.

Adamu is standing trial on a three-count of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

The accused’s plea was not accepted by the magistrate, Mr Hassan Mohammed, who maintained that the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter and directed the police to forward the case file to the state Director of Public Prosecution for advice.

He adjourned the matter until May 7.
