Knocks, Applause Follows President Buhari’s 2019 Presidential Declaration
Buhari’s Declaration Greeted With Mixed Reactions
The announcement of President Buhari’s decision to seek re-election in 2019 was amplified by his special adviser on new media and engagement, Bashir Ahmad in a tweet on his official handle @BashirAhmaad “President Muhammadu Buhari has just officially announced his intention to seek re-election in 2019. Details soon…”
The tweet has however continued to generate mixed reactions from several Nigerians.
Former Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, while giving her take on the re-election proposal of the president, compared President Buhari to a trespassing masquerade who doesn’t know when to stop.
There was a masquarade which in a burst of Hubris left its own village & strayed into a neighboring town.
The neighbors gave it the beating of a lifetime, it barely survived.
Asked some months later if it would go again, it replied:
I have not recovered from my 1st journey!?— Oby Ezekwesili (@obyezeks) April 9, 2018
The very nice thing about the “Breaking News” is that at least Citizens now officially know that it is to .@NGRPresident @MBuhari that WE shall personally hand APC’s own portion of the #RedCardToAPCAndPDP.
2019 is SURELY the #YearofTheOfficeOfTheCitizen#NewNigeriaOfOurDream.

It is a good thing that it was @Elrufai who announced President @MBuhari‘s second term because his chances of re-election is as tall as Elrufai. A man whose supporters can’t declare one thing he has initiated and completed has declared us all fools by this 2nd term declaration.

Since Buhari hasn’t initiated and completed even one project as #BuhariChallenge proves, I urge him to use 2019 election to redeem himself. Initiate and complete a free election and give Nigerians the opportunity to fulfill their desire to retire you from politics next February!
