United Defeats City at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City looked certain to wrap up the 2017/2018 premier league title after racing to a two-goal lead against Manchester United in their much anticipated derby game on Saturday, but Paul Pogba had other ideas.
Goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan had put City in control of the game at the Etihad Stadium but Paul Pogba struck, first in the 53rd minute to half the deficit, and then benefited from an Alexis Sanchez assist in the 55th minute to level the scores.
United still had enough fire in their bones to turn the game around, as Chris Smalling, in the 69th minute, fired in what would end up being the winning goal.
The defeat makes it a second consecutive loss for City after the humiliating loss to Liverpool in their midweek Champions League quarter final fixture.
