The ad hoc committee set up by the senate to investigate the clash between officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has reported back to the senate.

Francis Alimikhena, chairman of the committee, laid the report before the lawmakers during plenary, while Fatima Rasaki seconded the motion for the report to be laid.

The senate set up the adhoc committee in November 2017, to investigate the clash between officials of the agencies in Abuja.

The face-off was said to have stemmed from EFCC’s attempt to arrest Ita Ekpeyong, former director-general of DSS, and Ayodele Oke, one-time head of NIA.

Alimikhena told newsmen that the report had been laid and was awaiting the day for the consideration of the report before he could make any comment.
