The Nigerian Army has announced plans for the befitting burial of 11 soldiers killed by suspected criminals at Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The bodies of the dead soldiers, would be laid to rest at the Commonwealth Cemetery Kaduna on Wednesday, Naija News learnt.

The information on their burial, was contained in a statement signed by Muhammed Dole, Deputy Director Army Public Relations, which was made available to journalists in Kaduna.

It reads: “One Division Nigerian Army will conduct a befitting burial ceremony for its personnel who paid the supreme sacrifice during exercise AYEM AKPOTUMA.

“The burial will take place on 29 March, 2018 at Commonwealth Cemetery Kaduna.”

The 11 soldiers were killed at Kanfanin Doka, along Funtua road about 45 kilometres from Birnin Gwari town, in what was suspected to be a revenge mission over the killing of their leader, Buharin Daji, Premium Times report.

Nine vigilantes who were on their way to support the soldiers, were also injured in the attack by the bandits.
