1. President Buhari cancels tenure extension for APC executives

President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday declared tenure extension for APC party executives illegal and unconstitutional.

Buhari said this at the NEC meeting of the party in Abuja, calling for its review.

2. Atiku Abubakar declares intention to contest 2019 presidential elections

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has declared his intention to contest for Nigeria’s presidency during the 2019 general elections.

Atiku, who made the declaration in Port Haccourt, said he would contest on the platform of the PDP.

3. Tinubu supports Buhari’s decision on tenure elongation for APC executives

National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has stated that President Buhari’s position, affirms that the party remains faithful to the principles of internal democracy and the rule of law.

He said the president’s decision has saved the party from legal tussles.

4. JAMB still screening withheld results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said on Monday that 111,981 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results withheld by the board were still undergoing screening.

This was disclosed by JAMB’s head of public affairs, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

5. Stakeholders Walk Out On Lagos Lawmakers During Public Hearing On Land Use Charge

Some stakeholders staged a walk out on members of the Lagos State House of Assembly over disagreements during the public hearing on the controversial Lagos land use charge.

The are asking for more time to study the land use law in order to make meaningful contributions to the public hearing organized by the lawmakers.

6. Senate begins fresh move to veto Buhari on electoral act

Ahead of the 2019 elections, senators of the federal republic have begun fresh moves to adjust the election sequence by amending the electoral act.

The lawmakers, want the presidential elections to come up last in the election sequence for 2019.

7. INEC suspends 205 workers over 2015 election fraud

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that as part of the in-house cleansing, it has suspended 205 staff over various unwholesome roles in the 2015 general election.

INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, disclosed this in his keynote address at national colloquium organised by the Independent Service Delivery Monitoring Group (ISDMG) yesterday in Abuja.

8. Buhari’s election sponsored with stolen funds – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party has accused the All Progressives Congress of financing President Muhammadu Buhari’s election in 2015 with stolen public funds.

The party, in a statement Tuesday said this in response to earlier attacks launched on it by the federal government and the APC wherein they asked the opposition party to return looted funds they stole while in power.

9. Federal government declares Friday and Monday as public holiday

The federal government has declared Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2, as Public Holidays to mark the Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on Tuesday in Abuja on behalf of the federal government.

10. Serbia defeats Nigeria in London international friendly

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, lost 2-0 to the Serbian national team in a friendly match played at the Hive stadium in London.

Two second half goals from Mitrovic, gave victory to Serbia over the Eagles.
