JAMB Reveals Fate Of 111,981 Candidates Whose Results Were Withheld

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has disclosed that 111,981 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results which were withheld, are still undergoing screening.

Naija News understands the board would communicate its findings to concerned stakeholders at the appropriate time.

This position was confirmed by the JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

JAMB, had in a statement last week, after releasing 1,502,978 results, disclosed that the results of 111,981 candidates who sat for the 2018 UTME were withheld for “further screening”.

“After viewing all CCTV footages during the conduct of the 2018 UTME and considering reports from our supervisors, monitors and other independent Nigerians, JAMB has released the results of 1,502,978 candidates. Also, 112,331 results have yet to be released out of which 350 are the results of visually impaired candidates which will be released soon and 111,981 results withheld for further screening. The figure above excludes foreign candidates whose examination will be conducted in April,” the release had said.

On Monday, Dr. Benjamin confirmed to Punch that about 112,000 UTME results remained withheld as further screening was still ongoing.
