Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has disclosed that some fake Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) are in circulation.
The electoral umpire, further revealed that such cards cannot be used to vote in elections conducted by the body.
The information was contained in a terse statement obtained by Naija News from the official social media page of the commission.
“It has come to the notice of INEC that some cards purportedly Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) belonging to underage persons has been circulating online. The public should note that these are NOT the current PVCs issued by INEC and cannot be used for any election conducted by it.”
In an earlier report by Naija News, INEC had revealed it may be forced to burn all PVCs that remain unclaimed before the 2019 general elections in the country.
