Soldiers arrested with unauthorised military items

In a bid to stop activities of fake pensioners, the Military Pensions Board has secured the conviction of a fake pensioner and his accomplice.

The suspect Mathew Dogari, brought Dogari Bawa Henchi, another suspect to Military Pensions Board claiming to be his father and a pensioner, with documents which belongs to a deceased military pensioner, late Private Ensi Dogari.

Naija News learnt that their plan was to defraud the government by trying to enroll as a pensioner and collect monthly pension.

Consequently, they were charged to Grade 1 Area court kubwa, Abuja and pleaded guilty.

The Magistrate convicted them to eight (8) months in prison or an option of One Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira (N140,000.00) fine. It could be recalled that the Board had earlier secured the conviction of 14 fake pensioners since January 2018.
