1. Militants vow to attack oil facilities over sack of Paul Boroh

The Reformed Niger Delta Avengers and 10 other militant groups have given the president four weeks to restore Paul Boroh back to his initial position as coordinator of the amnesty programme.

They claimed to attack the nation’s oil facilities if their demand was not met by President Buhari.

2. JAMB releases over 1.5m 2018 UTME results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board says it has released the results of 1,502,978 candidates who sat for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The board added that the results of 112,331 candidates were yet to be released as they were still undergoing further screening.

3. FG slams fresh crisis against Nnamdi Kanu’s co-defendants

The federal government has filed fresh charges against four members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) being tried alongside Nnamdi Kanu, the group’s leader.

The three-count charge which bothers on treasonable felony was filed at the federal high court in Abuja, where they are being tried, on Tuesday.

The IPOB members — Benjamin Madubugwu, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, national coordinator of IPOB; Bright Chimeze, and David Nwawuisi — were being tried alongside Kanu also for alleged treason.

4. EFCC discovers $9m cash in home of ex-amnesty coordinator, Boroh

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has allegedly discovered another $9 million cash at the residence of the sacked Special Adviser on Niger Delta to President Muhammadu Buhari and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Tarelah Boroh (rtd).

The discovery of the cash was made a few hours after his arrest by a combined team of EFCC and ONSA operatives.

5. Former Vice President, Namadi Sambo visits Aso Rock

Namadi Sambo, yesterday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.

Sambo, however, declined comment on the outcome of his meeting, saying that it was a private visit.

6. Buhari approves sourcing of $15b loan for rail projects

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved that negotiation should be carried out for $15 billion loan for the completion of work on the Port Harcourt – Maiduguri rail project.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Ameachi, made this known when he briefed State House correspondents after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

7. Jonathan fires back at Osinbajo over N150b claim, says vice president lied

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has yesterday, challenged Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to provide evidence that his government shared N150 billion two weeks before the 2015 elections.

The Vice President had while speaking at the presidential quarterly business forum for private sector stakeholders at the Conference Centre, Old banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday, claimed Jonathan’s administration squandered the money two weeks to the 2015 presidential elections.

8. We need President Buhari’s permission to withdraw police from VIPs – IG

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s permission would be needed in the withdrawal of police personnel attached to politicians, public office holders and senior citizens in the country.

The police boss also revealed that the withdrawal of personnel would be nationwide.

9. Court dismisses suit seeking to remove Governor Yahaya Bello as Kogi governor

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, dismissed a suit seeking to remove Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, from office.

The suit was dismissed by Justice John Tsoho on grounds that the plaintiffs, Michael Elokun, Ibrahim Sule and Mrs Hauwa Audi, had no business instituting the case.

10. Senate adjourns plenary in honour of late Wakili

The Senate, on Tuesday, adjourned plenary in honour of late Senator Ali Wakili who died at the weekend.

Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, had during plenary on Tuesday, brought to the attention of the Senate, through order 43, the need to adjourn sitting as a tradition of paying last respect to one of their own.
