1. Why Buhari has not declared 2019 presidential ambition

The presidency at the weekend in Abuja disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to keep Nigerians in suspense on his re-election bid was a deliberate ploy to avoid sabotage.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina in an interview with select state house correspondents.

2. JAMB to release 1.3 million results today

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said it will release no fewer than 1.3 million results of candidates that sat for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination today after they had gone through security checks and found to be without malpractice.

The JAMB Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated this in an interview on Sunday.

3. DSS arrests notorious gunrunner Jonah Abbey, Others

The Department of State Services, has apprehended key members of kidnapping, gunrunning and armed banditry syndicates operating across the States of Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba and Benue.

Part of those arrested was Jonah ABBEY aka Jonah IDI alongside his driver, Agyo SAVIOUR aka Dan-Wase. ABBEY has been on the wanted list of the Service for the last ten (10) years over arms and ammunition trade.

4. Sagay threatens to reveal Saraki and Dogara’s salary details

The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), says Nigerians will be shocked when he releases details of the allowances of the principal officers of the National Assembly.

Sagay has always submitted that lawmakers were been overpaid in Nigeria.

5. Army kill 4, arrest 9 militiamen in Bauchi state

The troops of 33 Artillery Brigade of Operation “Lafiya Dole”, have killed four armed militiamen and arrested nine others, when they were attacked by the militia group at Burra Junction in Ningi in Ningi Local Government Council of Bauchi State.

The army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Texas Chukwu said that one soldier was wounded in the attack, which started when the militiamen started firing at the patrol team.

6. Accident on Lagos/Ibadan express way claims 18 lives

An accident at Alapako area on Lagos /Ibadan Expressway, involving a Ford Explorer jeep and a Mazda bus on Sunday has claimed the lives of 18 people.

Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Public Relations Officer, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) confirmed the sad incident.

7. Police threatens to prevent protest on 3rd main land bridge over Lagos land use charge

The Lagos state police command says protesters planning to block third mainland bridge in protest over the new land use charge (LUC) introduced by the Lagos state government, will meet “stiff resistance”.

Chike Oti, public relations officer of the command, in a statement on Sunday, urged those behind the planned protest to apply for necessary permit, and that they should air their grievances with the government, within the purview of the law.

8. Eagles open camp for World cup friedlies

Ahead of Friday’s international friendly against the Bialo-Czerwoni, the senior national team of Poland, the Super Eagles‘ camp will open in the Polish city of Wroclaw on Monday.

Enebi Achor, the team’s administrator disclosed that the Eagles would be staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Wroclaw.

9. Anto evicted from BB Naija show

Big Brother Naija Housemate, Anto has been evicted from the reality show house.

Anto joined other housemates, Princess,Bitto, Vandora, Dee One, Khloe, Leo, Ifu Ennada and K Brule who were envicted from the Big Brother Naija house.

10. Chelsea qualify for FA cup semi finals

Chelsea defeated Leicester City after extra time to qualify for the semi final stage of the English FA cup.

Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton also secured passage into the semi finals after defeating their quarter final opponents.
