Ex-Emir Of Kano, Sanusi Makes 'Big' Announcement After Alleged Support To Peter Obi

The Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey, Ilyasu Audu Paragalda,  has  barred The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, from entering the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This was following the Emir’s planned visit to give a Lecture at the Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus, yesterday.

According to the Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey  while giving  his reasons for his actions, stated that Emir Sanusi’s request to the country was turned down, based on diplomatic reasons as  the country is not safe for the Royal Highness.

The Emir should not come to Northern Cyprus for diplomatic reasons. Also, because Northern Cyprus is a non-recognised country, therefore it is not a safe place.”

This stirred up reactions from Nigerian Students in Northern Cyprus, querying why a Nigerian Leader would be stopped from visiting Nigerians for academic purposes, whereas the Ambassador has kids studying in North Cyprus under a scholarship scheme granted by the University.

A student of Eastern Mediterranean University who pleaded anonymity, called on the Nigerian Government to come to their aid.

He said: “An annual academic event tagged: ‘Career Week’, which is to be held at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus from the 12th to the 15th of March, to have in attendance the Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has been cancelled.

Naija News was also able to have a  first hand information on the scheduled programme where  the Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, should have given a lecture.
