The Federal Government has flagged off the cash transfer of N5,000 every month to financially disadvantaged people in kaduna  with 10,623 beneficiaries drawn from nine local government areas of the state.

Alh Hassan Usman Hunkuyi, who is the Commissioner Rural and Community Development said the local governments were drawn from the three senatorial zones.

According to him, ‘in the Northern Senatorial Zone, we have Ikara, Kubau, Lere LGAs, while in the Central Senatorial Zone, we have, Birnin Gwari Chikun, Kajuru LGAs, and the Southern Senatorial Zone, we have Kachia Kauru and Sanga LGAs.

The Tribune reports that each of the beneficiaries will collect the sum of N10,000 because they did not collect the February allowance.

He added that the programme, which is in collaboration with the World Bank, is FG’s effort to address extreme poverty and other forms of vulnerability under the National Social Safety-Nets Programme (NASSP)

‘The Cash Transfer component is to give the selected poorest and most vulnerable household (beneficiary) a monthly cash of Five Thousand Naira Only (5,000.00) in order to enhance their consumption level.”
