Charly Boy And Others To Protest DSS Detention of Journalist

The ‘ourmumudondo’ movement have disclosed plans to occupy the Abuja headquarters of the Department of State Services on Wednesday, 7th March, 2018 over the continued detention of Mr. Anthony Ezimakor, the Abuja Bureau Chief of the Daily Independent Newspaper.

The group are of the opinion that Ezimakor should be given an opportunity to defend himself and express his right to freedom of speech as well as the right to dignity of human dignity.

The group’s position is contained in a statement made available to Naija News, which was signed by Charles Oputa (Charly Boy) of ourmumudondo movement, Deji Adeyanju for concerned Nigerians, Ariyo Dare Atoye for Coalition in Defence of Nigerian Democracy and Bako Abdul Usman for Campaign for Democracy.

Naija News recalls Anthony Ezimakor has been in DSS custody since Wednesday, February 28, 2018 after honouring an invitation over a story he wrote in which he alleged the Buhari administration paid millions of dollars as ransom to Boko Haram for the release of some Chibok girls.
