Government Relocates Dapchi Girls To Nguru For SSCE

Students of the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe, who are in their final year, will be temporarily relocated to Government Girls Secondary School, Nguru, to enable them prepare for the forthcoming senior secondary school certificate examination.

Nguru is reportedly located about 300 kilometres from Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.

TheCable reports that the information on the relocation of the girls, was disclosed on Wednesday in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital by the state commissioner for education, Mohammed Lamin.

“We are right now making arrangements for the SS3 students, to take them to GGSS Nguru, to prepare them for their examination which is coming up in March-April. The practical aspect of their exam will start around that time, and we don’t want them to miss any part of their examinations.”

“Nguru is also a boarding school, but we are already taking steps to ensure security,” he said.

Naija News understands that only SS3 girls of the over 900 students of the school will be relocated for now.

The other students will still remain with their parents until the government is able to solve the issue on ground.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the Yobe state government had announced an indefinite closure of Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi following the suspected Boko Haram attack on the school in which 110 school girls were declared missing.
