Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court based in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of the Pen houses lined to the former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

According to Punch, the Judgment came after the counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. ABC Ozioko, prayed the court to order a final forfeiture of the properties listed in the schedule.

Naija News understands that on the 25th of December 2017, the court had ordered the interim forfeiture of the properties linked to the former minister: “Penthouse 21, Building 5, Block C, 11 floor, Bella Vista, Banana Island, Ikoyi and Penthouse 22, Block B (Admiralty Estate) also in Ikoyi, be forfeited to the Federal Government, pending the conclusion of investigation.”

Mr. ABC Ozioko  urged the court to cause the said properties to be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government and an order prohibiting any disposal mortgage or sale of the said properties mentioned in the application.

The counsel for the respondents, Mr. Emmanuel Bassey, stated that he had no objection against the motion for final Forfeiture but that he had filed a counter-affidavit before the court.

Naija News confirmed that Justice Mojisola Olatoregun  ordered the final forfeiture of the properties linked to the former minister, Mrs. Diezani in a short judgment.

“I have observed the facts and exhibits attached and I am also mindful that the second, third and fourth respondents have no objections to the application.

“I, therefore, have no hesitation in ordering a final forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government,” she ruled.

Naija News had earlier reported that Diezani to forfeit another $4.76m houses to the federal government.
