1. Dapchi girls: 110 students confirmed missing by federal government

The federal government has finally confirmed 110 girls of the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, are yet to be accounted for.

Minister of information, Lai Mohammed confirmed this in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital after a meeting with concerned stakeholders.

2. Troops capture Boko Haram commander

The Nigerian Army has has announced that five members of the Boko Haram terrorists group were killed, while a top commander of the insurgent group was captured by men of the Nigeria Army in Borno State.

It however said that two soldiers were unfortunately injured in the process, but had been evacuated by the Nigerian Air Force and are responding to treatment.

3. It’s time to go home- Fayose tells Buhari

Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has added his voice to that of those calling on President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election during the 2019 general elections.

The governor made the call against the back drop of the recent kidnap of school girls in Yobe state by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

4. NAF deploys air assets to search for Dapchi girls

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed additional air assets, including Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, to the Northeast in a renewed effort at locating the missing Dapchi girls.

This follows a directive by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Sadique Abubakar in order to provide more support for the ongoing rescue efforts of the kidnapped girls.

5. Army postpones recruitment screening exercise

The Nigerian Army has announced the indefinite postponement of the screening exercise for its 77 regular intake screening exercise.

Though no reason was given for the postponement, the army assured a new date would be communicated to the public in due course.

6. PDP dismisses INEC’s investigative panel on underage voting

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the eight-member committee set up by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, to investigate the issue of underage voting in Kano state.

The party argued amidst other issues that Katsina state should have been included in the scope of work for the panel.

7. VAIDS: Defaulters would be sanctioned after expiration of grace period

Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Tunde Fowler has advised Nigerians to take advantage of the Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) before it is too late.

He noted that VAIDS would expire by March 31st after which tax defaulters would face relevant sanctions.

8. National disgrace: CNN’s Isha Sesay blasts Buhari over missing Dapchi girls

Isha Sesay, a CNN journalist, has described the abduction of 11o students from Government Girls’ Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state, as “a national disgrace”.

She stated this in response to President Buhari’s description of the incident as a “national disaster”.

9. I am not dead- Tiwa Savage

Nigerian singing sensation, Tiwa Savage has reacted to certain reports saying she is dead after suffering from a heart failure.

She went on social media to debunk the rumours claiming she is alive and healthy.

10. Guardiola wins first trophy with Manchester City

Pep Guardiola won his first trophy as Man. City boss after trashing Arsenal in the Carabao cup finals on Sunday.

City defeated Arsenal by 3-0 at the Wembley stadium to emerge champions.
