Zamfara Killings: Police Arrest Three Suspects

Following the killings in Birane village in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara. Last week, the Nigeria Police has arrested three suspects.

The suspects including: Nafi’u Badamasi, 40, alias Zakiru, Halilu Garba, 45, alias Mabushi and Zubairu Marafa, 45, alias Wakili.

Naija News recalls that unknown gunmen suspected to be cattle rustlers, had on February 14 murdered 18 persons in Birane village.

Consequently, the Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Ibrahim Idris had deployed extra three units of Police Mobile Force (PMF) to the vicinity.

The Police spokesman, CSP Jimoh Moshood, said that the suspects, who are already in custody, were helping the Force the Police in their investigation.

He added that all suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation.

A joint investigation team, headed by the Assistant Inspector -General of Police in charge of intelligence at the Force Headquarters, was also dispatched to the state to fish out the perpetrators.
