Jonathan Paid People In His Reckless Government To Shut Up – Senator Remi Tinubu

A member of the Nigerian Senate, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, has described the administration of former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as a “reckless government”.

Mrs. Tinubu made the statement today, Monday, while speaking on TV Continental breakfast show, ‘Your View’.

The Senator while addressing the topic “Nigerian women in politics” said there is need for more women to be actively involved in politics, to give the female gender a better voice. She also lamented the fact that there are only seven women out of the 109 senatorial seats in the Upper Chamber.

While speaking on whether or not President Muhammadu Buhari is worth the presidential seat in 2019, she explained that he has the good will of the poor in the country, adding that the challenges that the country is faced with began more than 10 years ago.

While explaining that it is cumbersome to tackle Nigeria’s challenges, Mrs. Tinubu slammed Mr. Jonathan saying that his government was reckless.

According to Senator Tinubu, “Jonathan paid a lot of people to shut up, His government was reckless and that’s why we are here today.”

Speaking on herdsmen killings, she alleged that it had been there since the time of Jonathan, making reference to Mrs. Patience Jonathan’s assertion in a viral video where she said “this blood you are sharing…”

Senator Tinubu stated that Fulani Killings were present when the Boko Haram insurgency began, but explained that at the time the Boko Haram saga was more demanding.

Meanwhile, the senator discussing the empowerment of the girl child, explained that there is need o focus on educating and mentoring the girl child to have a positive and confident mindset, adding that the rate at which women are imbibing nudity is alarming and would have a negative effect on the image of the woman in the future.
