President Buhari Congratulates New South African President Ramaphosa

Following the election of a new President in South Africa , Cyril Ramaphosa, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his congratulatory messages the new leader.

President Ramaphosa succeeds the controversy stricken past president,  Jacob Zuma, who ruled South Africa before his resignation on February 13 this year.

Naija News recalls that Ramaphosa was elected by South Africa’s parliament on Thursday and sworn in immediately after, following the forced resignation of the Zuma.

President Buhari has hence, expressed his interest to work with President Buhari.
Buhari congratulated Ramaphosa on his twitter handle saying: “Congratulations also to the African National Congress (ANC), and the Government and people of South Africa, on the peaceful transfer of power that resulted in the election of President Ramaphosa”.

Buhari added that he  “looks forward to working with the new President of South Africa to enhance cooperation of the Governments of Africa’s two leading economies”.
