Portuguese super star, Christiano Ronaldo, scored two goals as Real Madrid battled from a goal down to overcome French giants, PSG by three goals to one.

The striker converted a first half penalty to become the first player to score 100 Champions league goals for a single club. Ronaldo went on to score another goal before Marcelo completed the comeback for Madrid to finish the game at 3-1.

Though Madrid’s local form has not been encouraging coming to the European scene, they looked very much like the team that have won the Champions league three times in the last four seasons.

In the other game on the night, playing away from home, Liverpool put five unreplied goals past Porto. A result that sees them put a firm foot in the next phase of this season’s champions league.

Earlier on Tuesday, Tottenham showed they can hold their own on the European soccer scene as they secured a valuable 2-2 draw against Juventus ahead of the return fixture at Wembley stadium in England.

Manchester City also dispatched FC Basel by four goals to zero, setting up a potential stroll in the park for them when the return leg comes up in England.
