Arsenal have disclosed that their French striker, Alexandre Lacazette is nursing an injury which is set to keep him out of action for up to six weeks.

Information published on the club’s website revealed Lacazette has successfully undergone a surgery on his knee and would be out of action for between four to six weeks.

“Striker Alex Lacazette had an arthroscopy on his left knee in London on Tuesday morning.”

“The minor procedure was a success and he will now undergo a period of rehabilitation.”

“It is envisaged that he will return to the squad within four to six weeks.”

The timing of Lacazette’s injury may leave the Gunners short in attack with Danny Welbeck now the team’s only recognized senior striker ahead of their Europa league clash with Ostersunds FK as new signing, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not eligible to play for Arsenal in the competition.
