The Emir of Kano, Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has told the Miyetti Allah to expose herdsmen hiding under the pretension of being part of the movement to cause conflicts between farmers and herdsmen in some communities.

The Emir also decried a situation where all Fulani herdsmen are now categorized as criminals due to the activities of certain unscrupulous individuals in the country.

The monarch made the call on Saturday when he, alongside other stakeholders, met with the leadership of various Fulani socio-cultural groups such as Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Miyetti Allah Katul Houre and Gan Allah Fulani Development Association to find ways of ending the recurring violent clashes between farmers and herdsmen.

“Nigerians should avoid ethnic profiling whenever a crime was committed, criminals have no tribal marks.

“MACBAN should liaise with the governors of Niger, Kogi, Nasarawa and Kano states who have indicated interest to allocate grazing reserves, with a view to developing them,” he said.
