Court Issues Bench Warrant Against Innoson Boss

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Ikeja special offences court has issued a bench warrant against the Chairman of Innoson group Innocent Chukwuma.

This is for failing to appear in court for arraignment in a four count charge

of fraud filed by the Economic and financial crimes commission EFCC.

The defence counsel had justified the absence of the defendant saying he filed an objection on the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter.

Countering the motion, the EFCC counsel said the motion was served at the last sitting and it was crucial for him to appear in court.

The Court then ruled that a bench warrant be served on Innocent Chukwuma, and that he should be kept in custody until March the 14th for possible arraignment.
