Take Firm Action Against Herdsmen Now – PDP Tells Buhari

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take drastic action against the killings perpetrated by herdsmen.

This was contained in a communique signed by Uche Secondus, and PDP Governors Forum Chairman, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State on Sunday after the end of its National Working Committee (NEC) and Governor’s Forum meeting in Asaba, Delta State.

The party said, “The president must take responsibility on the protection of lives and property of Nigerians which is the most important of its responsibilities.”

The party also condemned the federal government’s move to set up a committee headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to find solution to the crisis between the farmers/herdsmen and the killings, saying Buhari should take the bull by the horn.

The party said setting up the committee “is a pretentious approach to a matter that requires firm action and leadership by the President in line with its oath of office to protect Nigerians irrespective of creed, tribe or political affiliation.”
