Police Arrest Man Linked To Death Of Officer

An individual has been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command over the killing of one of its personnel in the state.

Confirming the arrest on Sunday Police Public Relations Officer, Idrissu Kennedy,said the deceased personnel was ambushed by some hoodlum, while on an assignment.

He revealed the arrest barely two days  after the policeman was killed in Toto Local Government Area of the state.

The deceased was in Nasarawa to make an arrest when he and his team members got waylaid by some hoodlums who were trying to kidnap an expatriate.

In the process of repelling the kidnap, he said a gun battle ensued which later left the expatriate injured and the said police officer missing.

The Command’s spokesman stated that the corpse of the deceased were discovered on Friday, while the suspect is being questioned.

The deceased officer was a member of the IGP special team on kidnapping.
