The Atlas Lions of Morocco, yesterday defeated the home based Super Eagles of Nigeria at the 2018 CHAN finals played yesterday to lift their maiden CHAN trophy.

The Moroccans were playing on home soil and therefore enjoyed massive support from the fans in the stadium who cheered every move by the Atlas Lions.

The Moroccans clearly outplayed and out muscled their Nigerian counterparts in almost every department of the field and deservedly got their first goal in the closing stages of the first half.

Upon resumption of the second half, they quickly added a second, before scoring the third and fourth goals to hammer Nigeria by four goals to zero.

The Super Eagles also ended the match with 10 men after Moses Eneji got his matching orders from the referee for two yellow card offences.

Though Dele Ajiboye put in a superb performance for Nigerians in between the sticks, there was very little he could do at the end of it all to keep the Moroccans from scoring four unreplied goals.

With the win, Moroccans will pocket $1.25m as tournament champions while the home based Eagles will collect $750,000 in prize money for their second place finish.
