1. Suicide bombers kill many in Borno IDP camp

Several people were killed on Wednesday at an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Dalori, Borno state, following a suicide attack by persons suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect.

An eye witness stated that many IDPs were killed in the attack.

2. Senate summons IGP Ibrahim Idris over Benue killings

The Senate has directed the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to appear before its committees on Police Affairs and National Intelligence over the clashes between herdsmen and farmers in Benue state.

Senate President Bukola Saraki stated the issue would not be swept under the carpet.

3. Fani-Kayode’s absence in court stalls money laundering trial

Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode’s absence in court made the presiding judge to adjourn the case against him till February.

His failure to appear in court was attributed to a heart-related ailment as disclosed by his lawyer.

4. New coalition movement launches in Abuja

A new Coalition Movement has been launched at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja as suggested by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in the 13-page blistering letter he wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Two former PDP governors, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Donald Duke were part of politicians present at the launch.

5. Gov. Ortom imposes curfew in Benue state over killings

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, has imposed a curfew on Gboko in Gboko local government area of Benue state, where seven persons, suspected to be herdsmen, were set ablaze.

This follows the tension sparked in the town fueled by the incident.

6. President Buhari lists what he has done as regards Benue killings

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate to chronicle steps taken by his administration on the killings in Benue State and conveyed his disagreement with the lawmakers that nothing had been done to address the plight of those affected.

The president’s letter was read at plenary on Wednesday by Senate President Bukola Saraki.

7. Deal with cabals in your administration, Sagay tells Buhari

Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay has told President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, that the cabals in Aso Rock are clogging the wheels of his administration’s progress.

He made the pronouncement in Minna, Niger state during a lecture he delivered.

8. Nigeria is running a bastardized political structure – Oyegun

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has stated the country is not running true federalism.

Oyegun stated this at the public presentation of the report of the APC Committee on True Federalism on Wednesday, at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

9. Super Eagles soar into CHAN final after defeating Sudan

The home based Super Eagles, yesterday defeated their Sudanese counterparts by a single first half goal in the on-going CHAN tournament.

They will now face hosts, Morocco in the finals of the tournament.

10. Manchester United and Chelsea loose in English premier league

Manchester United and Chelsea both lost their premier league fixtures yesterday, loosing more ground on table toppers, Manchester City.
