Zamfara Lawmaker’s Sons Regain Freedom From Kidnappers’ Den

The sons of the member representing Maradun/Bakura Federal constituency of Zamfara, Alhaji Yahaya Chado have regained freedom after a week in kidnappers’ den.

It would be recalled that Muhammad Yahaya and his elder brother Junaidu Yahaya were abducted by unknown gunmen on Jan. 22 at their home in Gora village, Maradun Local Government Area in an attack where three persons were murdered and four injured.

Naija News learnt that the abductors released Muhammad and demanded N10 million as ransom to release Junaidu.

It was learnt that Junaidu was dropped in the village by the abductors on Tuesday and has been taken to the Police Headquarters in Gusau for interrogation.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the release on Wednesday.

However, he said, “we are not aware of the payment of any amount as ransom to secure the release of the victim’’.

“We are hoping to get to the hideout of the criminals,’’ he added.
