Buhari Arrives Nasarawa For Two-day Official Visit

1. President Buhari returns to Nigeria after attending African Union meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari has yesterday, returned to Nigeria after participating alongside other African leaders in the African Union meeting held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

2. Patience Jonathan looses N2b suit against EFCC

Former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, lost the N2billion fundamental rights suit filed against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following the dismissal of the suit by Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday.

Tsoho in his judgement delivered held that Mrs. Jonathan in her submission failed to sustain claims of violations of her fundamental rights by the EFCC.

3. Adeosun and Gwarzo disagree before House of Rep Commitee

Minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun has defended her decision to suspend Mournir Gwarzo as the SEC boss, stating her decision follows the recommendation of the administrative panel of inquiry set up to probe him.

The suspended SEC boss however insisted his suspension did not follow due process.

4. Senate postpones planned security summit

The Senate has announced the suspension of its planned security summit in honour of late former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, who will be buried in Enugu on Saturday.

The summit, was earlier scheduled to hold on February 1 and 5 at the Banquet Hall of the State House.

5. Suspected herdsmen kill NNPC officials in Benue

Armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, yesterday attacked and killed an official of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC at Tse Torkula, Benue State.

The deceased was working on the petroleum pipeline with his colleagues in the area.

6. INEC to announce 2019 election results elctronically

The Independent National Electoral Commision, INEC, has disclosed that the results for the 2019 general elections in the country would be announced electronically.

It also disclosed physical copies of the results would be given to party agents as well.

7. Senate warns against adoption of Bit Coin, other Crytocurrencies

The Nigerian Senate has expressed concerns over the widespread adoption of Bit-coin, and other forms of Crypto-currency and ponzi schemes across the country.

This follows a motion moved by Senator Benjamin Uwaiumogu (Imo North), who expressed concern that Nigerians were freely advised, and even persuaded to invest in crypto-currency as it promised quick returns.

8. Olamide looses mum on son’s birthday

CEO of the YBNL label, Olamide, yesterday, lost his mother to the cold hands of death.

His mother died on the same day Olamide’s son Batifeori Maximiliano Adedeji marked his third birthday.

9. Swansea defeats Arsenal in premier league clash

Arsenal suffered a shock defeat in the hands of fellow premier league club, Swansea City.

The Gunners had taken the lead through Nacho Monreal’s strike but were quickly pegged back as Swansea equalized.

Arsenal went on to loose the game by three goals to one.

10. NFF unveil Dennerby as Super Falcons coach

The Amaju Pinnick –led Nigeria Football Federation has on Tuesday, unveiled Mr. Thomas Dennerby as the Head Coach of the Super Falcons.

The unveiling ceremony held inside the conference centre of the National Stadium Complex, Abuja.
