Herdsmen Attack Plateau Villages Killing 2

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked Ariri and Tafi-Gene villages of Jebu-Miango in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing two persons.

The attack which occurred on Sunday night around 9:30 pm, resulted in the death of two individuals, with one person severely injured and a number of houses left burnt.

An eyewitness revealed that the perpetrators ambushed the three persons as they were on their way to their various homes from a playing ground, the Sun reports.

The dead have been reportedly buried, while the wounded is currently being treated at a hospital in Bassa.

Residents of the communities have begun fleeing from their homes for fear of being attacked.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Marthias Terna said he was yet to get comprehensive information on the attack.

Terna stated that the police was investigating the matter in order fish out the assailants who had been attacking and killing innocent citizens in the past one week in the council area of the state.
