Woma, Grand Children Die As Truck Crashes Into Ondo Market

An elderly woman and her two grandchildren have been killed in a road accident on Sunday.

The unsuspecting persons died along with two other persons,  after a truck crashed into a roadside market in Ondo State.

The accident happened in Akungba-Akoko, the university town in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

A resident, who was at the scene of the crash, disclosed that the truck which was arriving from Ikare-Akoko supposedly went out control while its driver was trying to avoid a car near the market, The Nation reported.

The eyewitness also said several traders and passersby,  severely injured in the accident had been taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

He added that officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police were already at the scene to restore normalcy to the area.
