CHAN 2018: Super Eagles Soar Into Semi-Finals With Angola Win

The home based Super Eagles, yesterday won a hard fought game against the Angolan team to secure qualification for the semi finals of the ongoing African Nations Championship, CHAN in Morocco.

The Eagles looked set to crash out of the tournament after trailing 1-0 to a second half goal from Vladimir Vá.

Anthony Okpotu, however came to the rescue of Nigerians by netting the equalizer in the stoppage time of the regular game time to cut short the celebration of the Angolans and force the game into extra time.

Gabriel Okechukwu, thereafter turned the game in favour of the Eagles in the  109th minute of extra time at the Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier, Morocco to turn the game in favour of the Eagles and secure qualification for the semi final stage of the CHAN tournament.

With this result, Nigeria will now take on Sudan in Marrakech on Wednesday for a place in the finals of the tournament and a shot at the CHAN trophy.
