Uniben Lecturer Murdered By Unknown Robbers

A lecturer at the University of Benin, Dr. Godwin Omofonwa has been murdered by suspected robbers

The suspected thieves killed the lecturer on Wednesday, when they invaded the deceased’s home at the Ugbowo area of Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Confirming the incident during a press conference, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokuko said the police was able to shoot one of the robbers while others absconded.

The CP promised residents that the command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the assailants are brought to book.

SPeaking further, Kokuko pleaded with members of the public to continue to give the police useful and timely information in order to improve the efficiency of the security agencies.
