Fire on Wednesday, razed down Stallionaire Oil Depot, Ijegun Satelite Town, Ijegun, Lagos.

According to sources, the fuel depot, comprising five tank farms with one of the tanks filled with petrol, exploded and resulted in a great inferno.

Naija News gathered that the petrol tank was gutted by fire while other tanks filled with diesel were rescued.

An official of the Lagos Emergency Agency, Adesina Tiamiyu, said the agency’s swift response to the outbreak prevented the fire from escalating.

According to Mr. Tiamiyu, LASEMA officials, with other emergency agencies were on ground to put out the inferno.

He added that proper investigation would be carried out on the incident.

He therefore, advised the owners and managers of oil and gas companies to always ensure that proper emergency response plan is put in place to address such occurrences.
