Briefs From The Federal Executive Council Meeting On 24 January, 2018

Today’s Weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber, State House. The meeting just ended.

Below are highlights of the briefing from FEC:

Ministry of Water Resources- FEC approved a memo for the completion of an abandoned irrigation project benefiting Kano & Jigawa States. This project, abandoned since 2000, is presently at 50% completion and will increase irrigation hectarage in Nigeria by more than 2000 hectares.

Expected completion period for this project is 24 months. The irrigation project is one of the 116 large-scale abandoned/uncompleted projects inherited by the Ministry and they are determined to complete all abandoned projects.
