Arsenal are understood to have made significant breakthrough in their attempt to sign Dortmund’s Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan during the current January transfer window.

Both players have agreed personal terms with the club, according to reports by Goal.

Gunners coach, Arsene Wenger is hoping the arrival of the two attacking players will soften the blow of the imminent loss of Chilean star, Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

Sanchez is understood to be training away from the first team as his departure from the Emirates stadium seems to draw closer with every passing moment.

He is expected to sign a staggering £14m-a-year contract with United which would make him one of the highest paid players in the premier league and his agent, Fernando Felicevich is expected to pocket in excess of £10m for facilitating the deal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are increasingly growing confident that the duo of Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere will sign contract extensions at the North London club and remain with the club beyond the summer.
