Armed Robbers Kill Policeman In Katsina

Three suspected armed robbers, on Tuesday night invaded a popular supermarket in Katsina, killing a policemen, Corporal Ibrahim Sirajo.

The policeman, according to Punch, was at the supermarket to charge his mobile phone when the armed robbers stormed the shop at about 9pm.

Naija News learnt that the policeman was a member of the patrol team keeping vigilance along the Katsina/Kano Road where the supermarket is located.

A source, anonymously, revealed that after the robbery attack in the supermarket, the robbers left for another part of the town where they were seen trying to change the number plate of their black Volkswagen Golf car.

According to the source, the State Commissioner of Police, Muhammadu Waziri, immediately led other security operatives to the scene after hearing about the incident.

The Police spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, therefore, said the perpetrators would soon be arrested.
