Some suspected herdsmen have again unleashed mayhem on the residents of Guma, Logo and Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, leaving five people dead.

Naija News gathered that the attack occurred after a disagreement ensued between herdsmen and farmers which led to the death of one person.

The State Governor, Samuel Ortom, who disclosed this on Wednesday when he received the members of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’ Forum at the Government House, Makurdi, confirmed that four persons were killed in Guma and Logo.

Ortom said, “Two women have been killed in Guma and another two persons killed in Logo.”

The leaders had paid him a condolence visit at the Government House to commiserate with him over the killing of 73 persons by the marauding herdsmen on New Year day.

Ortom said that the gruesome murder were still being carried out without any arrest, despite the deployment of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris and 663 armed riot policemen in the state.

The governor therefore, called on security agencies to arrest the leadership of Miyetti Allah for issuing threats to resist the implementation of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law in the state.
