UNILAG Reveal Plans For 50th Convocation Ceremonies

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has promised to input fresh innovations and initiatives as it gets ready for its 50th convocation ceremonies for the 2016/2017 academic session.

It revelead that the ceremony will run between February 19 and February 22, 2018.

This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe,  on Tuesday in Lagos during a chat with newsmen.

“This time, we will make a few changes and introduce a few items to make the ceremonies lively and memorable.

“For instance, the convocation venue will move from the usual multi-purpose hall known as Jelili Omotola Hall to the main auditorium known as Ade Ajayi Hall.

“But we will soon come up with a line-up of events to kick-start the convocation.

“The events normally begin with a convocation media briefing, followed by the convocation lecture, among others,’’ the vice-chancellor said.

Ogundipe further explained that the management of the university would continue to ensure the institution delivers its mandate in the areas of research, innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship.
